Wanted man killed in Jamaica

One of St James’ most wanted men is now the subject of a murder investigation in the neighbouring parish of Westmoreland. Dead is 28-year-old Kavian Irving of Dalling Street, Savanna-la-Mar in Westmoreland and Cambridge,  St James. Irving was wanted by the St James police in connection with a case of murder and was shot dead in his Westmoreland community on Sunday.


Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police are that about 7:50 p.m., Irving had just arrived home when he was pounced upon by a gunman who shot him several times.

The gunman then escaped. Irving was pronounced dead at Irving was wanted by the St James police in connection with a case of murder and was shot dead in his Westmoreland community on Sunday.

Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police are that about 7:50 p.m., Irving had just arrived home when he was pounced upon by a gunman who shot him several times. The gunman then escaped. Irving was pronounced dead at hospital.

Meanwhile, detectives in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, have listed Dermott Baker as a person of interest in their investigation and are asking him to make contact with them immediately.


Persons with information as to his whereabouts are being asked to call the Savanna-la-Mar Criminal Investigations Branch at 955-2758, police 119 emergency number, Crime Stop at 311 or the nearest police station.
