So you recorded mixed and master your music; Now it's time to get it out to the world.
You started searching on the internet for distribution services only to find out there's a plethora of distribution services available; Now you have no clue which to choose.

I know it's hard to choose between the growing list of all these different distribution company when you have no experience with them in the first place; But worry not yourself I'm here to help you narrow the list.

In the world of music distribution the following 3 distributors are at the top of the list when it comes to getting your music to the masses.

In no particular order I introduce to you the top 3 contenders; first up is TuneCore.

TuneCore is one of the most established music distributors in the music industry; They Have been up and running since 2005 and they have been offering artist a wide range of music distribution services such digital distribution to major streaming outlets; they also offer music publishing and sync licensing as a extra add on. TuneCore's user-friendly platform allows artists to easily upload and distribute their musical works to all the major streaming services and digital platforms like Apple and Spotify with ease.

DistroKid is another big name popular music distributor that has gained popularity and traction in recent years. The platform offers musician unlimited music uploads, and the option to keep 100% of their earned royalties, They also offer a variety of additional power features as add-ons such as their pre-save campaigns and team collaboration to name a few.
With their low prices and a simple to use interface, DistroKid has become one of the top choice for many independent artist.

CD Baby has been around since 1998 and remains one of the most reliable distributors on the market. Unlike some other distributors, CD Baby offers physical distribution in addition to their digital service. They also provide artists with a variety of music promotion tools such as free UPC / EAN barcode; Sync licensing and YouTube Content ID submission;
They even offer Social Video Monetization with Facebook, Instagram and TikTok; Plus they only charge a one time fee to distribute your music Album or Single and it stays up forever with no additional fee; Unlike Tunecore and Distro Kid which charge an annual fee every year to keep your songs up and if for some reason you can't pay they take it down.

Honestly they all have their good and bad; You just need to weigh the good with the bad and choose what's right for your need.

But in my opinion CD Baby is a no brainier; But like I've said before you choose what's right for your needs; Every artist is different; Some want content ID some don't. Some want help with publishing some don't. Just make sure you spend some time on their website to get a better understanding of the difference in pricing and features.
